Aizat opening his concert…

A few weeks ago, i received a personal invitation from my favorite local singer himself, Aizat to attend his first ever concert.

I was actually going to pay for the ticket to see the concert anyway, but learnt that the tickets were selling like hot cakes. Before i managed to get one, they were all sold out! So, when i got the invitation email, i was hysterical! I actually got 2 tickets, so naturally i chose one of my close friends to accompany me.

So, last night i attended Aizat debut concert at the Bentley Music Auditorium, Mutiara Damansara. I was joined by about 700 Aizat’s die hard fans inside the auditorium….

The concert started around 8.30-ish…and Aizat came on the stage opening the curtains with his English single from the latest album, Years From Now.

If i wasn’t mistaken, Aizat rocked the house with 16 of his original songs…including his soon-to-be-released single called “Di Mana Engkau Berada”….his first ever hip-hop-ish single…

Closing the curtains, Aizat sang a bonus song for the fans, a song made popular by Anuar Zain, Perpisahan….

Overall, the concert was beyond awesome. I’m not saying this cuz he gave me free tickets, but cuz it is true. He is the real deal…and we all know that.

Dato’ Siti Nurhaliza, Dato’ Sharifah Aini, Noh Hujan and Mizz Nina were among the VIPs who came to witness Aizat did his magic on his own stage…

The most interesting thing about the concert, at least to me, was the fact that the people who made up the live band at the back were actually some of Aizat’s siblings, cousins and close friends…

It was such a wonderful thing to see that his first concert ever was literally a very personal thing to him….like a family affair!

I’ve learnt that the concert was actually being recorded and soon to be released in CD and/or DVD….i’m looking forward to that, for sure….

I could go on and on and on…but i really do not know how to translate the awesome-ness of the concert into a blog post….

I only wish the best for this true star and looking forward for many many more concerts from Aizat in the future….

Definitely a night to remember….bravo, Aizat!

Are you envious of another?

Envy is not a sin to me. It’s merely instinct. It’s what people do naturally. It’s part of nature to desire what you don’t have for yourself, but want.

The good news is that as an instinct, it can be overcome over time. How?

By realizing that your beliefs are not necessarily the same as others. That your situation is different from others. That your journey is different from others. That what you want in life is different from others. That what you have achieved is different from others. If not in every way, but it some ways.

Congratulate or be happy for others who seem to be achieving their goals and always be thankful for what you have. When you can do this regularly, envy will rarely rear its ugly instinctive head.

I’ve been enjoying my time here very much. However, i can’t wait to go back to KL tomorrow as i have a few other things waiting to be finished.

Anyway, back to my blog entry…

Lately, i’ve heard and discussed a lot about money issue and how most of us think that other people are more fortunate to simply have more money than us.

I saw a few friends ranting about it through their Facebook status and coincidentally, only like half and hour ago, i had a chat with a close friend (whom i have not talked to for a few months due to our busy schedules) about this particular issue. He randomly called me and kinda asked for my opinion about how he felt he had so little possessions compared to his friends.

So, i just thought that i REALLY had to write about this little issue that most of us have in common…

Since i was younger (though i am only 28 now..hehe), i have always had this belief that money really not the most important thing that i would want to pursue in my life. All my life, i know happiness is crucial that anything else.

HOWEVER…

I also believe that money can solve a lot of problems, including heartache. Money definitely won’t buy us happiness…but it can absolutely buy a lot of things and solve a lot of problems in life…which eventually leads to a much more happy life.

In this “expensive” era where money is needed for everything, i cannot imagine how one can live his/her life just being happy…without having a single dime to spend. That would be impossible to achieve…sadly…

So, which one is more important…money or happiness?

Well, the answer for that question lies within our own selves.

To me, it is all about keeping both things in balance.

I personally DO NOT want to have a job which keeps me stuck at the office from 8 am till 10 pm…no matter how much the job would pay me. I’ve been through that…and i am 100% convinced now that it is not worth to give up my time and life for it.

I value my “me” time very very much; time when i can spend on nurturing my passions, to be spent with my friends and family and to devote myself to my God. (and i think that is also why i couldn’t care less about getting married yet…gosh, that makes me sound like a big loser, doesn’t it?)

The job i have now allows me to have my time flexibility….but consequently, the job is not paying me much. This is the give-and-take deal that i have to make peace with…

Am i feeling jealous looking at my other friends who already own several condos and driving sweet sweet cars
(and STILL complaining about not having enough money)? HELL YES…

But does that make me regret with the decision that i have chosen for my own life? Not a single bit…

I am happy with my life now. To be precise, i am 95% of the time happy with my life now. The remaining 5% is when i sit and dwell on how poor i am compared to my other friends…hehehe

Getting rich with definitely not my No. 1 goal in life…BUT i do want to be rich or at least have some extra cash in my bank account someday…cuz i know by being rich, i will gain the power to do whatever i want…and what i want to do is to pamper my family and share the wealth with the people in need….

I still remember back when i was earning a lot more that what i am earning now…and what i remember is i felt a lot worse than what i feel now…i was not happy AT ALL…

I believe that if i keep doing what i love to do…and keep persevering…the money will follow later in my life….

For now, i am so happy with the people i have in my life and with whatever i can afford to buy at this moment I never feel sorry for not having a high paying job…neither i feel sad that my family is not helping me to make me rich (cuz i know some of my friends are living comfortably cuz their parents helped them to buy a big house, pass them family businesses to run, sponsor their fantasy weddings etc…)

Does my mom happy with my decision now? Probably not…but as selfish as it might sound, i want to live my life the way i want it to be, not how others want my life to be…not even my mom’s sayings can change my decision…ever…

I am so loved now…no amount of money can ever compare to what i’m feeling now….

So, in conclusion, to me, i put happiness first than money…provided i earn enough to meet the ends and to keep some for later…

Soalan: Saya mudah kecewa. Apabila saya doa, saya rasa doa saya Allah tidak akan terima. Saya dah minta doa macam-macam, tapi banyak benda yang minta itu tak berlaku seperti yang diminta. Kadang-kadang sehingga saya rasa macam tidak larat hendak berdoa. Tolonglah saya Dr!

Jawapan Dr MAZA:

Saudari, semoga Allah merahmati kita semua. Untuk menjawab kemusykilan saudari itu, saya nyatakan seperti berikut:

1. Doa adalah permohonan kepada Allah. Allah ialah Tuhan Yang Maha Agung dan Maha Mencipta. Apabila seseorang berdoa kepadaNya, hendaklah ia dilakukan dengan penuh perasaan merendah diri, kekusyukan jiwa, harapan dan pergantungan yang mutlak diserahkan kepadaNya.

Ramai orang berdoa, tetapi tidak ramai pula yang jiwanya ketika berdoa itu jiwa merendah, penuh tunduk dan khusyuk kepada Allah. Kebanyakan doa diungkapkan dengan jiwa yang hambar sedangkan Allah memerintahkan: (maksudnya)

“Berdoalah kepada Tuhan kamu dengan merendah diri dan (dengan suara) yang perlahan. Sesungguhnya Allah tidak suka kepada orang-orang yang melampaui batas”. (Surah al-‘Araf, 55).

Jika kita dapat menjadikan jiwa kita ini begitu beradab, merendah, khusyuk dan penuh pengharapan kepada Allah, kita menghampiri pintu kemakbulan.

2. Bersangka buruk kepada Allah seperti menganggap Allah tidak akan terima doa adalah perasaan yang salah dan perlu dibaiki. Bagaimana mungkin Allah menolak doa, sedangkan Dia yang memerintahkan kita berdoa kepadaNya. Firman Allah:

(maksudnya): “Dan apabila hamba-hambaKu bertanya kepadamu mengenai Aku maka (beritahu kepada mereka): Sesungguhnya Aku (Allah) sentiasa hampir. Aku perkenankan permohonan orang yang berdoa apabila dia berdoa kepadaKu. Maka hendaklah mereka menyahut seruanKu (dengan mematuhi perintahKu), dan hendaklah mereka beriman kepadaKu supaya mereka mendapat petunjuk (Surah al-Baqarah, 186).

FirmanNya juga: (maksudnya)

“Dan Tuhan kamu berfirman: Berdoalah kamu kepadaKu nescaya Aku perkenankan doa permohonan kamu”. (Surah Ghafir, 60).

Doa yang dilakukan dengan penuh penghayatan pasti diterima Allah. Itulah jaminan Allah sendiri.

3. Maka seseorang hamba yang berdoa hendaklah dia penuh dengan keyakinan bahawa Allah akan memakbulkan doanya. Hanya jiwa yang tidak khusyuk ketika berdoa sahaja yang ragu-ragu terhadap penerimaan Allah. Sabda Nabi s.a.w:

“Berdoalah kamu kepada Allah dalam keadaan kamu yakin dengan kemustajabannya. Ketahuilah sesungguhnya Allah tidak menerima doa dari jantung hati yang lalai dan alpa” (Riwayat al-Tirmizi, dinilai sahih oleh al-Albani).

4. Namun, waktu dan ketika yang dipilih oleh Allah untuk sesuatu doa itu diperkenankan, hanya dalam ilmu Allah. Kadang-kala dilewatkan atas hikmah yang Dia Maha Mengetahui, dan insan yang berdoa juga biasanya akan tersingkap hikmah tersebut apabila tiba masanya. Sehingga apabila tiba waktu doa itu ditunaikan Allah, baru kita akan merasa betapa beruntungnya kemustajaban itu hadir pada waktu tersebut. Maka jangan putus asa dalam berdoa. Sabda Nabi s.a.w :

« Sentiasa doa dimustajabkan untuk seorang hamba Allah selagi mana dia tidak berdoa untuk membuat sesuatu dosa, atau memutuskan silaturrahim, selagi dia tidak tergopah-gapah ». Ditanya baginda : « Apa itu tergopoh-gapah ? ». Sabda baginda : «Apabila dia berkata : aku telah pun berdoa ! aku telah pun berdoa !, tetapi aku tidak nampak pun dimustajabkan untukku, lalu dia berhenti ketika itu dan meninggalkan doa » (Riwayat Muslim).

5. Cara bagaimana Allah memustajabkan sesuatu pengharapan atau doa hamba itu juga berbeza-beza. Mungkin tidak seperti jalan yang disangka hamba yang berdoa itu, tetapi Allah sesuatu yang lain yang lebih baik untuknya. Umpamanya, mungkin seorang hamba meminta kekayaan yang besar atas andaian dengan kekayaan itu maka dia akan bahagia.

Namun Allah mengetahui tentang hal hamba tersebut yang mana kekayaan besar boleh memudaratkan iman atau persekitarannya yang lain. Allah mungkin menggantikan kekayaan yang besar itu dengan rezeki yang mencukupi, kesihatan yang baik, anak-anak yang soleh dan keluarga yang bahagia. Kesemua itu membawanya mencapai ketenangan hidup di dunia dan kebahagiaan di akhirat.

Maka insan hendaklah jangan cepat menyatakan doanya tidak diterima, sebaliknya hendaklah dia sentiasa menyemak dan menilai segala kurnia Allah yang ada di sekelilingnya. Kemustajaban doa itu berlaku dalam berbagai bentuk. Sehingga ada yang Allah tangguhkan apa yang diminta itu ke hari akhirat, kerana Allah mengetahui bahawa di saat itu insan tersebut lebih memerlukan apa yang diminta tersebut. Sabda Nabi s.a.w :

« “Tiada seorang muslim yang berdoa dengan suatu doa yang tiada dalamnya dosa, atau memutuskan silaturahim melainkan Allah akan memberikan kepadanya salah satu dari tiga perkara: samada disegerakan kemakbulan, atau disimpan untuk diberikan pada hari akhirat, ataupun dijauhkan keburukan yang sepadan dengannya”. (Riwayat Ahmad, Al-Bazzar dan Abu Ya’la dengan sanad yang sahih).

6. Doa tidak sia-sia. Doa adalah lambang pengabdian diri seorang hamba Allah kepada Allah Yang Maha Agung. Sebab itulah berdoa kepada selain Allah, sekalipun memohon kemustajaban dari nabi atau wali adalah dianggap sebagai syrik. Sementara berdoa kepada Allah adalah ibadah. Ertinya, jika seorang hamba itu berdoa selama sejam, dia sebenarnya sedang beribadah selama sejam. Jika dia berdoa sepanjang malam, bererti dia beribadah sepanjang malam. Sabda Nabi s.a.w :

“Doa itu adalah ibadah” (Riwayat Abu Daud dan al-Tirmizi, dinilai sahih oleh al-Albani).

Adapun berdoa selain Allah pula adalah syirik dan memusuhi penyerunya pada hari Kiamat kelak. Firman Allah: (maksudnya):

“Dan tiada yang lebih sesat dari orang yang menyeru selain Allah, yang tidak dapat menyahut seruannya sehinggalah ke hari kiamat, sedang mereka (makhluk-makhluk yang mereka sembah itu) tidak dapat menyedari permohonan tersebut. Dan apabila manusia dihimpunkan (pada hari akhirat), segala yang disembah itu menjadi musuh (kepada orang-orang yang menyembahnya) dan membantah mereka” (Surah al-Ahqaf, 5-6).

7. Kehidupan ini mempunyai rahsianya yang tersendiri. Banyak perkara yang kita rasa pahit dan membencinya pada masa tertentu padahal ia manis pada masa yang lain. Banyak perkara yang kita rasa baik, ia buruk apabila berubah masa dan keadaan. Allah Maha Mengetahui apa yang bakal terjadi, apa yang sedang dan telah terjadi. Kita selalu tergopah-gapah menilai sesuatu keadaan. Sehingga kadang-kala kita berdoa hendak sesuatu, sedang Allah mengetahui ia tidak baik untuk kita. Allah menggantikan dengan perkara lain, kita mungkin tidak perasan atau sedar.

Seseorang mungkin merasakan doa yang dikehendaki belum Allah mustajabkan, tetapi dia terlupa apa yang sedang dinikmatinya itu sudah mencapai harapannya. Maka, janganlah cepat kita berputus asa dengan rahmat Allah dan terus menghukum bahawa doa kita belum dimustajabkan.

8. Dukacita dan keperitan hidup menghapuskan dosa dan menaikkan darjat seseorang di sisi Allah. Ia juga membawa insan membanyakkan doa. Dalam detik menunggu kemustajaban doa, ramai yang kembali menjadi soleh, tunduk, tawaduk dan membanyakkan ibadah. Penangguhan doa mempunyai berbagai hikmah dalam kehidupan muslim. Dunia ini amat kerdil dan tidak dibandingkan dengan akhirat. Doa merupakan amalan yang membawa kebahagian insan di akhirat. Menanti kemustajaban doa dengan iman dan penuh tawakal merupakan tempoh yang menyebabkan banyak insan kembali menemui jalan Allah yang hakiki.

9. Marilah kita teruskan doa, baiki diri dan nilailah apa yang telah berikan kepada kita dalam kehidupan hari ini. Keperitan hari ini, mungkin kemanisan hari esok. Kemanisan hari ini, belum tentu kenikmatan hari esok. Maka, sentiasa bertawakal kepada Allah dan jangan putus asa berdoa kepadaNya.

Since i am a member of the pharmacy, i went for the screenings. It was free for all the basic tests. They offered me for a complete executive health screening session for only RM88 but i decided to not going for that.

I did several tests and these are the results :

1) Hemoglobin count test : My score was 14.5 (Normal)

I don’t know the scale but basically the lady told me that i had a healthy red blood cells count.

2) Uric Acid test : 6.9 mg/L (Normal healthy range for adult male is 2.0 mg/dL – 7.5 mg/dL)

FYI, The uric acid blood test is used to detect high levels of this compound in the blood in order to help diagnose gout. The test is also used to monitor uric acid levels in people undergoing chemotherapy or radiation treatment. Rapid cell turnover from such treatment can result in an increase in uric acid.

3) Cholesterol test : 4.1 mmol/L (anything less than 5.2 mmol/L is considered healthy)

4) Blood glucose/sugar test : 6.3 mmol/L (anything less than 7.8 mmol/L is considered healthy)

5) % Body Fat : 18.8% – which is still not optimum. (Normal range is 10% – 19.9%, i’d prefer to be somewhere 12-14%)

6) Viscoral Fat Level (amount of fat around the heart area) : 7 (Normal range is 1-9)

Definitely need to bring it down some more…

7) Estimated Biological Age : 30 (OMG!!! Need to bring it down some more!!!!!)

8 ) % Skeletal Muscle : 34.6% (Low range : 0.5 – 32.8 %, Normal range : 32.9 – 35.7%, High range : 35.8 – 37.3%, Very high range : 37.4 – 60%)

I need to aim for at least the High range….

All in all….i’m in a pretty decent condition….alhamdulillah. I was so scared when they tested my for diabetic test cuz i had family history of diabetes.

I need to work harder to bring my Body Fat % a bit lower and will definitely have to control my diet even more since i have family history of illnesses.

I don’t just wanna live a happy life…i wanna live a healthy life too….insyaallah….

1) “Kids Birthday Party” Standard Package :

Some of the tips and supplements worked for me and some didn’t. Therefore, i want to share here on my blog some tips/supplements that have been working for me very well.

However, you guys must now that when it comes to health and fitness, there is no such thing as “one size fits all”. There is no diet regime that can guanrantee to work for every single person who try it….and there is no supplement that can promise to be effective to everyone. So, you REALLY need to know and be honest about yourself. Not all people can follow a rigorous diet plan or an intense work out regime. You need to be able to know what suits you the best…and that can only be achieve by willing to try a few different things, once at a time, and willing to hold on to each one long enough to see some results.

FYI, i am still farrrrrrr away from achieving my desired result, i do not have a gym body…at least not yet…but i’m just not gonna worry about that so much right now…i just want to focus on the fun getting there

This is the gym tips #1 that i want to share with you guys :

1) During the first 3 months at the gym, i spent about 1 to 1.5 hour exercising, splitting cardio exercise equally with weight training. So, if i spent 1 good hour at the gym, i would be on the treadmill for 30 mins and would be lifting weights on the second half an hour. After a while, i realized that that particular exercise regime didn’t do much to my body. I sweated buckets and buckets, but i gained minimal amount of muscle and i only noticed insignificant amount of weight lost.

Then, i changed my exercise regime to only 10 mins of cardio and 50 mins of weight lifting. Since i knew i’d be spending a lot more time lifting weights, i started to take whey protein shake 20 mins before i get to my gym. Protein shake would help me to avoid feeling muscle sore after each work-out session. Plus, it would assist me to gain more muscle mass. FYI, to those who do not know, whey protein is 100% natural and it is not even considered as taking supplement, it is just part of the food intake.

Anyway, back to my next work out regime, by cutting down time spent on the cardio exercise and allocate more time for weight lifting, i noticed i got much better results in much quicker time, at least 30% quicker.

Cardio exercise turned out to be NOT the primary exercise if you want to gain muscle mass during the same time you cutting down your body fat.

Recent clinical studies also showed that too much cardio can actually reduce your bone mass. Plus, stressing your body too long on a treadmill will send signal to your hormone gland to release cortisol, a hormone that induces fat-conservation process.

So, technically, spending 30 mins on the threadmil everyday will lead to WEIGHT LOSS (no doubt)…but NOT FAT LOSS….cuz by running too much, you will burn out your muscle tissues, not your fat tissues. You will become skinny, but your body fat percentage would be pretty much the same, and that is not good….
